As it’s Eating Disorders Awareness Week, we thought we’d take this opportunity remind those living with disordered eating in Hertfordshire that our service is free, and we have no waiting lists.

We know that getting help can be a long and difficult process. NHS waiting lists can be lengthy.

You can contact us to book an assessment with one of our qualified counsellors who have lived experience of both addiction and recovery.

Our specialised disordered eating groups run between 10.30am and 2.30pm at our Stevenage hub on a Tuesday, and at our St Albans hub on Wednesdays.

We don’t diagnose eating disorders, instead, we undertake a deep, holistic assessment with the person who comes to us for help.

During this assessment, we want to learn more about you and your relationship with food.

We help people work on body image, feelings, mindset, self-esteem and self-care abilities.

If you would like help, please contact us on 0300 365 0304 or you can fill on our online referral form.

 Our client Lily says:

“Coming to The Living Room for treatment for my eating disorder has been an amazing experience. I have received so much kindness and support from the counsellors and other clients. I have a place to come where I can talk about my feelings honestly and openly and not be judged.

“I am really starting to come out of my shell after being very shut down socially and emotionally for around a decade. I came to The Living Room after quitting my job as I couldn’t cope. I am now doing volunteer work and looking at what I might do when I return to paid work. I am feeling positive about my future.”
